Moodboard: In the woods

Have I ever told you how much I love Ikea? It’s my home out of home. So it’s not a surprise that I went there yet another time without a particular reason. Just for inspiration (and a hot dog + ice cream). Well during this trip to Ikea, I spot this amazing picture.

Looking at it, I feel like I have fallen asleep in the woods and then the dawn came and the first light of the day woke me up. Not that I would ever do that on purpose. That’s why I thought that it could fit on the wall above my bed. I would wake up every day in the woods, but I would have slept a lot better and warmer and safer. Except the wall above my bed is currently occupied*. But if it wasn’t that’s the way I would style it.

Paint: Painting the room in some subtle green with hints of gray creates the whole “in the woods” felling without being too heavy to live in. Plus it ties nicely with the picture.

Bed: I chose the farmhouse bed from Ana White mainly because deep inside me I hope that someday I will build a piece of furniture myself** and this one is a beauty. And it’s the farmhouse bed. No further explanation needed.

Lamp: It’s an industrial/vintage feeling lamp. What I like about it is the fact that it doesn’t “fit” the theme. It makes the room more interesting that way.

It’s a small moodboard, but it has the overall feeling I wanted to create. What do you think?

* That’s a story for an other post.

** Not true, because if I ever build something it will be this desk.
