I’ve had a cold for two weeks now and after my trip back to Trondheim things got worse. I even skipped work today and spent most of the day sleeping. Then I woke up in the afternoon fixed me some fish soup and got back to bed with the iPad. It is amazing how many remedies my colleagues suggested: tea with honey, ginger tea, licorice root (never heard about that one), salted water inhalations and much much more. My mother said sleep, tea and soup, so that’s where I placed my bet for now. What do you do when you have a cold? Any remedies with alcohol? I mean the one you can drink. Share and I’ll test them..

/ January 11, 2013My Dad makes a hot toddy with honey and whisky
but that is not going to be cheap in Norway! For me it depends on the symptoms. Anything with honey is good for a sore throat, I usually put it in my coffee instead of sugar if I have one. If it’s a blocked nose I hate that and have to resort to drugs
(pseudephedrine, not illegal ones!). Ginger tea is good if you like it, especially with a bit of honey.
