I got nominated for the Liebster award for the second time (here’s the first!) by Ashley, the blogger behind Under the Ash Tree. Thanks a lot Ashley! I did my best to follow the rules this time. So here are my 11 answers to her 11 questions, 11 random things about myself and 11 questions for the bloggers I nominate.
What was your favorite meal growing up?
Probably potato fries and fried eggs.
Lena Dunham? Pro or Con?
To be honest, I don’t know much about her. I watched the first season of Girls and that’s about it. One thing that has bothered me though is her attitude to her body.
Best book you read in High School?
The Parrot’s Theorem by Denis Guedj. It’s still one of my 10 favorite books.
Where do you most want to travel too (where you haven’t already been)?
India, Japan, China. In that order.
It’s a Snow Day! What movie do you decide to rent?
The untouchables. Amelie. Notting Hill. Or something very recent that I haven’t seen yet.
What’s your proudest accomplishment?
The fact that I learned how to use (in a broader sense) an MR scanner and that I feel comfortable doing it alone.
Who is your favorite Actress/Actor?
There are many actors that I consider very talented, but for now I really enjoy Emma Stone.
Whats your favorite blog post you’ve written?
The one about the things I miss from Athens.
Someone is coming to visit you. Where is the first place you take them?
In Athens, I take them to Acropolis museum for lunch/coffee. In Trondheim, I take them to my favorite trail and then for the best waffles in the city.
What was the last song you listened too?
Dog days are over by Florence + The Machine.
Why did you pick your blog title?
Because I was planning to have just another blog writing about houses and decor. Then I changed my mind and I also added traveling, photography, recipes… I don’t plan to change the name anytime soon though.
11 random things
+ Every other year, I like to grow my hair long and then I like to cut them in a bob. Then I start growing them back. And this has happened at least 10 times.
+ I am obsessed with organizing the kitchen and bathroom cupboards. I find it very relaxing.
+ I have a Pilates ball in the living room that I have never used for Pilates exercises (or any exercise for that matter). I just like sitting on it while watching TV.
+ I used to bite my nails until they really hurt or bleed, a disgusting habit that I managed to quit only three months ago. (An update from the last time I got the award!!)
+ It took me 26 years to realize that I am short. For the first 25 years, I thought I was 164 cm and that isn’t that short. I guess Norway changed my perception of height, along with the fact that I am actually 161 cm (measured again and again and again) and I need a ladder or a chair to reach the top cupboards in the kitchen.
+ People at work talk to me in Norwegian and I usually answer in a mix of english, greek, norwegian and french. It’s a mess, but we manage to communicate.
+ I like to sing at home or when I walk in the street. My favorite is when someone joins me. I especially like to sing greek operettes about love and cheating couples.
+ I read GOMI. I’ve never commented on any thread.
+ I cook when I am stressed and I run when I am angry. Sometimes I do it the other way around.
+ I don’t like the word selfie. I used to take pictures of myself since I was a kid. There’s nothing special about it, it’s not that big of a deal and most importantly, it’s not a new concept.
+ I like staying up late. As I write this line, the time is 2:17 in the evening (ahem, morning) and I just realized I have to go to bed. Goodnight! I’ll finish it tomorrow.
+ The best vacation of your life.
+ One fun thing that happened today and made you smile or laugh.
+ A movie everyone should absolutely see.
+ The worst thing you’ve cooked in a year.
+ One thing you want right now.
+ The worst first date you’ve ever had.
+ One thing there’s no way you can stand.
+ One weird thing you’re really good at.
+ What you are wearing right now.
+ A quote you stand by.
+ The last song you danced to.
Have a great week!
