My type of travel experience

It’s been a long time since my last trip and I’ve been dreaming about the places I want to visit, my next big adventure. There’s no concrete plan yet, just too many ideas. What I do know though is how I like to travel. Here’s how things go. I…

Bring out the map, plan and research.

Pack a bag with everything I need and then some. Last year, I travelled through Europe with 3 kg of apples in my bag (don’t ask!).

Get a sense of wanderlust and a false feeling of freedom. The feeling of being between two places.

Travel alone or with someone I love. Nothing in between.

Dress up and wear make up.

Drink as many cappuccinos as possible, preferably in different cafes.

Keep notes and lists of what to see and what I have seen already.

Take millions of photos and videos.

Eat great breakfasts.

Or brunch.

Read about the place I visit. Find the silliest stories.

Enjoy the nature.

Or the city.

Take a bike.

A boat.

A car.

Get extremely cold.

Or extremely warm.

Get lost.

Not have every single detail planned ahead.

Talk to strangers. Be open to adventures.

Meet friends.

Make new friends.

Fall in love with the city. Fall in love (again) with someone.

Live stories to tell or to keep secret. Lately I’ve been doing the later. Makes the whole travel experience more exclusive, unique, special.

Miss my bed, my house, my kitchen too much.

Come back filled with memories and a urgent need to go back or travel somewhere else.

Start from the top.

That’s it! How to do you like to travel?
