I made this recipe few weeks ago, when I had some friends over for dinner on a Sunday night and it was both a hit and a miss.
This recipe is chicken with bacon, served with a potato gratin and mixed greens. The chicken was OK. There are several other chicken recipes in Jamie’s book that I like so much more than this one.
The potato gratin however was the best one I’ve ever made. I substituted cream with milk, because I’m trying to avoid it whenever I can. The result was still very creamy and tasty. We ate the whole thing and loved it.
As far as the mixed greens go, I wasn’t too keen on them. I didn’t hate them, but I didn’t like them so much either. They were a bit boring.
Will I make this again? All in all, I don’t think I’ll be making the chicken or the mixed greens again, but that potato gratin was the lightest heavenly potato gratin I’ve ever made, so I’ll be making that for sure in the future.
